Every Thursday evening, as the sun begins its slow retreat behind the palms of Jimbaran, a gentle buzz stirs around Jejala Pool Bar at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali. The scent of kitchen grill, sizzling meats, and sea breeze fills the air, an invitation to slow down and simply enjoy. This is Grill & Chill by the Pool, a relaxed and flavor-packed dining experience set beneath the open sky.

From 7 to 10 p.m., the space transforms into a casual, open-air barbecue setting where time slows down and appetites grow. At the heart of the experience is the grill, here you will find chefs work over open flames, turning out plate after plate of smoky, flavorful dishes prepared fresh to order.

There’s no rush here. Guests are encouraged to take their time, beginning perhaps at the salad bar, a generous spread of vibrant greens, grilled vegetables, and marinated delights. Bowls of rucola, baby tomatoes, confit eggplant, and pickled mushrooms offer something fresh and zesty for every taste. Homemade dressings from Japanese soy to lemon vinaigrette, add the finishing touch, while baskets of warm bread rolls quietly tempt at the table.

Near the grill, chefs are in their element. Flames dance as they sear baby squid filled with herbed meat, glazed ribs, and chimichurri-topped beef sizzle to perfection. Yellowtail is gently seared and served with a light sauce vierge, while skewers of prawns, chicken sate, and vegetables move from fire to plate with effortless rhythm. Each bite carries the signature smokiness of the grill, paired with comforting sides like cheesy baked potatoes, ratatouille, and garlicky sautéed mushrooms. At the pasta station, penne in creamy rock lobster sauce offers a rich, familiar favorite, dressed up with parmesan, capers, or a touch of chili.

The night unfolds deliciously with an unlimited à la carte menu that lets you savor every moment. Begin light with a Mediterranean salad or a fragrant bowl of Provencal fish soup, then dive into comforting mains like grilled pork belly or tender beef piccata. And just when you think it can’t get better, dessert steals the show. Think strawberry tiramisu, velvety chocolate mousse, tropical sago pudding, and crisp pavlova. Even cotton candy makes an appearance, because every great meal deserves a little surprise.

Priced at Rp388,000 per adult and Rp194,000 for children under 12.
