Frederic Ferry ARTOTEL Group Marketing Communications and Creative Manager – Bali Cluster

Could you please tell us a little about yourself?

I originally started in Marketing Communications when I worked for InterContinental Hotels Group in 2010 where I was in charge of Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali communications, strategy and implementation. I worked across all communication mediums and during my time there social media became more prominent. So this was my launching pad and I became so interested in it and wanted it to become the focus of my career, which is how I ended up at ARTOTEL Group. I’m now taking care of all marketing communications and creative aspects for all ARTOTEL Group properties in Bali.

Tell us about the new beach club that will be opened soon in Sanur

We’re so excited about this. Definitely the first of its kind in Sanur! Commanding a picture perfect coastal views, the 7000-square-metre lush oasis offers an unparalleled new beach club experience in Sanur – right on the sea level.

With direct access to the beach, ABC’s “beach-front playground” presents a lagoon pool, multi-purpose lawn, boutique stores and tantalizing food and drink options – from its terraced restaurant to four stunning bars, spread over manicured lawns and white sandy beach.

The design-led beach club enhances its natural environment with modern edges, effortless style and a youthful playfulness.

Redefining the traditional beach club offering, ARTOTEL Beach Club features its signature giant tree house; built around hundred years old Banyan Tree, a curated outdoor gallery space and paying homage to its location, an artistic shopping arcade.

What can people in business expect from you?

Bringing glamour back to Sanur. The way Charlie Chaplin, Barbara Hutton, Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall experienced it.

What do you think about the hospitality industry in Bali and what do you expect from it?

Hospitality industry touches lives of almost everyone here, from hotels to minor service providers supporting the industry. Guests’ experience is enhanced by quality service. All hospitality organisations strive for that extra ‘oomphs’ that they can provide to all the customers. Hence, we always require best strategists around to make this happen and get us ahead in the competition. I’m thrilled to see healthy competition trying to outshine each other in the most creative ways!

Share with us the most memorable moment that has ever happened during your career

There are too many to mention. Overall I love the art of communications. The challenges of increasing public awareness, the creative use of social media, community events, creating releases, visuals and speeches to draw attention to the company’s agendas or services…

What is your biggest weakness?

That would be my inability to share responsibilities and/or remaining patient during group projects. I want to be in control. I don’t trust others with work I know I can do better. So, if I have to share a task, I lose my patience when I suspect that the other person isn’t doing it right. I’m a complete control beyotch.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

I Don’t Know.

What do you do for fun during your day off?

Eating out! I love food. I love to read too, it’s like feeding my soul to match my hefty exterior LOL
