As the General Manager of FAIRFIELD by Marriott Bali Legian could you share some distinctive features of the property that makes your brand stand out from the others?

I feel the story of the brand is very powerful. The Fairfield by Marriott brand is inspired by the warm hospitality and simplicity of the original Fairfield Manor House and the Fairfield Farm in Virginia, owned by the Marriott family, and it was a favorite place of J. Willard Marriott.

This brand essence was executed beautifully by our owner into this hotel where they put lots of thoughts and consideration in every detail to make guests feel comfortable. The other side, our team is striving to provide services at their best to make guests feel at home and to be part of our family.

What is the most memorable achievement in your career at hospitality industry?
In 2012, I was the Director of Rooms at JW Marriott Surabaya and in that year, I received the EDGE (Excellence in Delivering the Guest Experience) award presented at Marriott Headquarters in Washington DC, met Mr J.W Marriott, Jr and Mr Arne M. Sorenson (President and CEO) and at the same year, I was promoted from Director of Rooms to Resident Manager at JW Marriott Surabaya.

How do you feel to be the first woman to be the General Manager in Marriott in Indonesia? I feel proud and happy at the same time that everyone has the same opportunity to grow and develop in Marriott.
If you could pick one place anywhere in the world to be your dream destination, where would it be? For holiday, I think I will choose Europe since I have never been there yet. For living, I will still choose Indonesia, my home country.

Can you share tips for women who would like to follow the same career path?

Be persistent, don’t give up, ask questions for something that we are not familiar with and focus on the goal.

What do you do for fun during your day off?

Watching movie, shopping and travelling

What book has influenced you the most?

‘Good to Great’ by Jim Collins

Where do you see yourself in five years?

My passion is in the hospitality industry; therefore I will still enjoy myself working in the hospitality industry.
