Interview with Ian Kusuma Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach

What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The most? I think it is understatement as there are many things to enjoy in my line of work. Few of them are getting to meet and work with many different people from different backgrounds, often time being the first to know about what is new / happening within the company or industry, as well as having a lot of rooms for creativity, because being a PR and Marketing, your office is literary the entire area of the hotel.

With experience working in several luxury resorts, what do you think is special about Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach?
As the first Hotel Indigo in a resort location, as well as among the first to hold a 5-Star recognition, Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach offers blend of luxury and traditional Balinese culture, presented in a dynamic and vibrant perspective.
It is truly a destination for everyone, be it for leisure, business and even local traveller from around the neighborhood.
More than just a destination, it’s a neighborhood inspired experience.

What is the most memorable achievement in your career at hospitality industry?
To be the first Balinese to lead an amazing team of marketing expert in a luxury 5 stars property at the heart of Seminyak!

When you’re at work, what puts a smile on your face?

How do you cope with so many competitions in Bali these days? What is your hotel doing to stay competitive?
It is the willingness to learn, I see competition as a challenge rather than a problem. We can always compete in a healthy business environment.

Sydney, I just love the everything there.
But next, will be NYC on my list.
