Share with us a bit of your personal background. How did you end up choosing hospitality as your career?
I had been fortunate to be able to experience working in few different hospitality industries; cyber office, wine retail, restaurant, casino and hotel. Each industry has its own challenges and uniqueness and I learn a lot from them. But if I may choose, I enjoy more working as hotelier which was my passion since I was in high school. It feels good to make people happy and satisfied with our service. And today, my dream comes true to be part of the biggest international hotel chains in the world as the gentleman of Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
As the Public Relation Manager of Mandapa, a Ritz Carlton Reserve, what is the most challenging thing that has ever happened to you on the job? How did you handle the situation?
It is to work in a multi-cultural environment. I am very outspoken person and maybe not everyone can accept it. At the end of the day, we are one team and one family at Mandapa, we have to understand each other.
You have been in Bali for quite a while now; could you name three things you like the most from the island and three that you dislike?
The People. I live with a Balinese Family and they are very genuinely caring and treat me like
The Nature. Bali has it all; beach, mountain, river, rice field, and all of them are so beautiful.
Babi Guling. I can eat this every day.
Littering! There are so much trash everywhere, on the beach or up in the mountain in Batur
I wish we can keep the Bali nature clean.
Traffic! It is getting worse by year.
I think so far it is only two.
Tell us about your daily work routine; what do you usually do from the start of your day until the end of it?
It takes only 5 minutes walks from house to my locker. I start my work every day at 9 am, and continue with morning Line Up with Sales and Marketing team. Work, work, work, work, work, work, then my boss says I have to work, work, work, work, work, work! Then I go home. Lol.
