Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort recently announced the promotion of Michal Zemlicka as the Director of Food & Beverage

Michal is a native from Slovakia and is a graduate of The Institute of Hospitality Management in Prague. Starting his career in the industry with a passion for travel, he moved from Europe to the United States, Australia, a short stint back home, Dubai and finally Bali in March 2016. Michal’s career with Starwood (now Marriott International) begun in July 2012 and moved on to Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers in March 2014, overseeing 2 prestigious venues; the 1-Michelin-starred Vivaldi by Alfredo Russo and Creekside Japanese Restaurant. An opportunity came for another move, this time to Bali at the Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort as the Food & Beverage Manager and later promoted in November 2017 as the Director of Food & Beverage.  In his new role at the resort, he oversees the F&B department together with the Catering and Conventions team.

A keen wine enthusiast, Michal is focused on introducing and highlighting Indonesian cuisine to a worldwide traveling audience and surpassing guest expectations in both restaurants at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. Whilst Feast offers a wonderfully diverse international menu, Michal ensures that Indonesian food is well represented, alongside a wide variety of healthy eating options. Bene is an Italian restaurant with a selection of classic dishes to suit all palates. Although a lot of bars in Bali focuses on creating new cocktail varieties, Michal’s view, backed by extensive experience, is that people really love to have a classic cocktail, such as his all-time favourite Espresso Martini or a good old Aperol Spritz mixed to perfection. The same principle applies to food preparation with customers always looking forward to beautifully prepared fresh seafood and of course a good thick steak, cooked just right.
