Taste The Forgotten Craft at The Westin Ubud

We’re excited to announce a month-long residency for Restaurant Nusantara at The Westin Ubud.

A change of scenery from our normal Venue in Ubud Center to a stunning location in the landscape and jungle views within the property of The Westin Ubud.

Starting from 1st October, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nusantara will be open for diners from 18:00 onwards. We will be showcasing our ‘Taste The Forgotten Craft’ set menu and also have our à la carte menu options too.

Indonesian cuisine is so very diverse and broad in scope that it’s impossible to easily categorise and define. Along the way, we have ‘learnt’ a lot about the origins of the food, the ingredients, the techniques and cultures that create them.

We wanted to try to showcase some of these insights and share the often forgotten crafts that helped create today’s Indonesian cuisine. Like its name, which means archipelago in Indonesian, chef Putu along with his team of sous chefs from Bandung and Medan bring lesser-known recipes, ancient wood fired cooking techniques and the best of Indonesian ingredients.

We will offer both à la carte menu and a set menu. Both perfect for sharing family style featuring small and big dishes from the wood-fire grill. ‘Taste The Forgotten Craft’ set menu served family style for 425.000 IDR ++ per person.  In addition, just as much creativity goes into our drinks menu for this special event, do check out the Indonesian ingredient inspired craft cocktails and infused teas too
