The passionate philanthropist created a one-of-a-kind community cookbook, from Bali, filled with cultural and personal stories as well as recipes passed down through the generations. OUR BALI YOUR BALI is a vibrant 400-page hardcover book that shares not only the island’s cuisine through its pages, but the very heart and soul of the people of Bali. Most importantly, 100% of the profits from the book’s sales provide aid those living in extreme poverty.
OUR BALI YOUR BALI was recently recognised on the world stage, at the 27th Gourmand Book Awards (this year held in Umea, Sweden). Dean received two prestigious BEST OF THE BEST awards – THE BEST COOKBOOK IN THE WORLD, and the BEST FUNDRAISING BOOK ASIA.

The resort encourages its guests to participate in the campaign that has raised $540,000 so far and aims to raise $1,000,000 in total through the sale of books and donations, with ALL PROFITS going directly to the following charitable Foundations: Scholars of Sustenance, East Bali Poverty Project, Bali Children’s Foundation, Bali Wise, Friends of the National Parks Foundation and ARSA.
