W Bali – Seminyak is excited to announce the new Director of Culinary, Norberto Valdez Palacios, or rather to be called Norberto. Coming to Bali, Norberto is more than ready to amplify his culinary experiences to lead the team in W Bali, with the hotel’s well known outlets such as Fire restaurant, Starfish Bloo and their Sunday Brunch to Woobar Bali and other B&F outlets in the property.
The Argentinian born, Norberto, successfully finished several culinary trainings in the Instituto Argentino de Gastronomia, before he finally got his Culinary Art Degree – Professional Gastronomico from Ecole Le Notre Argentine in December 2000. Starting his professional career right after he was graduated, he cooked as a Chef de Partie, Chef Instructor, and finally got his first Executive Chef position in 2006. Norberto also had an experience as an External Chef – Consultant in one of the well-known beach club in Mexico, helping the pre-opening culinary team to set their two restaurants. In 2019, Norberto finally joined the W family as an Executive Chef at W Maldives, successfully leading a multicultural team of highly skilled food professional for 3 of their restaurants, Steak House, International All-day dining and a seafood restaurant. Within his W Maldives career, he also successfully experienced several special events with well-known international chefs, such as the Island Take Over with Mark LaBrooy, the chef and owner of Three Blue Ducks, a famous group restaurant located at W Brisbane.
